DTF Application Instructions
- Heat Press Setting: Set to 300°F - 320°F (150°C - 160°C).
- Pre-press: Press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture.
- Position: Place the DTF transfer on the garment with the white ink side down.
- Press: Apply medium-to-firm pressure for 10–15 seconds.
- Peel: Most modern DTF transfers are hot or warm peel. Wait 5-10 seconds after pressing, then peel the film in one smooth motion. If the transfer lifts, press again for 2–5 seconds.
- Finish (Optional but Recommended): Place a Teflon sheet or parchment paper over the design and press for an additional 5–10 seconds to enhance washability and achieve a matte finish.
- Fabric Types: Cotton requires 280-290°F, while polyester and blends prefer lower temperatures (255-265°F) to avoid scorching.
- Cooling: If using a cold-peel film, wait until the transfer is completely cool to the touch before removing the film.
- Post-Press Care: Wait 24 hours before washing to allow the ink to cure fully.
- Equipment: A dedicated heat press is recommended for consistent, high-pressure results, as Cricut EasyPress may require longer pressing times.
